Both of the contestants use their own strategies.Slowbro was using status moves like 'Calm mind' where Wartortle was only focused on attacking. Lyra had a strategy. She knew that she needed to end this fight fast as Slowbro was a Physic type Pokemon and it would get stronger with time due to status moves. Wartortle used moves like 'Ice beam', 'Iron tail' and 'Bite' while Slowbro was using moves like 'Confusion' and 'hyper beam'. Axel felt that those attacks were not coordinated enough. It seemed like something was missing from this fight.After some time, the effect of 'Trick room' was going to be over and Slowbro played his last card."Slowbro, now use 'future sight'"Lyra gave 'I don't know what to do now' look when she heard Lorelai speak those moves. He wanted his Charmeleon to face Ryker's Charmeleon.Axel knew that he had been neglecting the training of Charmeleon. Before there was the feud between Charmeleon with the team and then after that Axel lost his vision for a month. So, he didn't have much time to concentrate on Charmeleon.Axel felt that he should now start thinking about this little guy seriously. Charmeleon would be a powerhouse and would be the most powerful Pokemon in his team in the future. He just knew that. Since Charizard was his favorite Pokemon he would be using it more often even in other regions. So, he wanted Charmeleon to face a strong opponent today.
