<h1>Chapitre 41 : Visite à l'hôpital (2)</h1><p>Amelia était inquiète pour Riya, mais après avoir obtenu la confirmation du médecin que cette dernière allait bien, elle parvint finalement à se calmer.</p><p>Elle partit peu après et, sur le chemin du retour, se plaignit à son frère.</p><p>« Frérot, aide-moi à enquêter sur la famille Taylor ! Je ne crois pas qu’ils n’aient rien à voir avec cet incident ! » déclara Amelia, exaspérée.</p><p>« Je sais, mais ce ne sera pas facile », répondit Samuel avec légèreté.</p><p>En tant que personne familière avec ce milieu, Samuel en savait plus que sa jeune sœur. S’ils étaient assez confiants pour agir aussi ouvertement ici, cela signifiait qu’ils étaient prêts à affronter toutes les conséquences.</p><p>Amelia fronça les sourcils mais insista : « Je m’en moque. Je ne veux simplement pas les voir se pavaner après ce qu’ils ont fait à Riya ! »</p><p>À ses yeux, Riya était sa meilleure amie, et si ces gens osaient lui faire une telle chose, c’est qu’ils l’avaient aussi offensée, elle !</p><p>Samuel jeta un regard à sa sœur et murmura : « Je sais. »</p><p>Même si les chances étaient minces, il allait essayer. Il serait plus difficile d’infiltrer leurs hommes dans cet établissement. De plus, l’hôpital était bondé, et sortir Riya discrètement ne serait pas une mince affaire.</p><p>Mais si ses blessures étaient graves...</p><p>« Elle s’est juste foulé la cheville et sort demain. »</p><p>Cette nouvelle ne fit qu’exacerber la colère de Mme Taylor.</p><p>« Comment un accident aussi grave n’a-t-il provoqué qu’une entorse ? Avez-vous seulement fait votre travail correctement ? Espèce de #$%^&* ! »</p><p>Une série d’insultes s’échappa de la bouche de Mme Taylor avant qu’elle ne raccroche. Elle savait pertinemment que cette opération était un échec total et qu’elle ne pouvait plus rien y faire.</p><p>Si Riya avait été grièvement blessée, elle aurait pu la faire sortir de l’hôpital sous prétexte d’une opération. Mais avec une simple entorse, quel prétexte invoquer ?</p><p>Mme Taylor était exaspérée.</p><p>Ciera, qui écoutait sa mère, comprit que leur plan était voué à l’échec. Cela l’irrita, mais elle savait aussi qu’ils ne pouvaient pas réagir immédiatement.</p><p>Agir trop vite ne ferait qu’éveiller les soupçons.</p><p>Et Riya leur laisserait-elle une seconde chance ?</p><p>Même si Riya ne trouvait pas de preuves impliquant la famille Taylor, elle ferait sans doute tout pour ne plus se montrer, leur ôtant ainsi toute opportunité de la cibler.</p><p>C’était frustrant.</p><p>Ciera s’apprêtait à rejoindre sa mère lorsqu’elle vit son père arriver, le visage sombre. Elle ravala ses mots et battit en retraite.</p><p>Elle ne tenait pas à assister à une dispute parentale.</p><p>Quand cela arrivait, la maison devenait un champ de bataille. Elle ne voulait pas se retrouver prise entre deux feux.</p><p>Avant même que son père n’approche, Ciera avait déjà disparu.</p><p>Son frère, témoin de la scène, tourna également les talons pour éviter les foudres paternelles.</p><p>Bang !</p><p>« Pourquoi tu claques la porte comme ça ?! »</p><p>« Tu sais ce que tu as fait ? On m’a informé que la famille Jones enquête sur mes affaires ! » tonna M. Taylor.</p><p>Il pensait que tout allait bien et que rien ne clochait. Quant à s’occuper de Riya, il prévoyait d’employer d’autres méthodes plus tard, sans précipitation.</p><p>L’état de sa fille était relativement stable pour l’instant.</p><p>Mais sa maudite femme avait dû aller lui créer des problèmes. Croyait-elle vraiment qu’ils étaient invincibles et pouvaient agir en toute impunité ?</p><p>L’expression de Mme Taylor se figea un instant avant qu’elle ne rétorque : « Et alors ? Ils ne peuvent rien contre toi ! Ce n’est qu’une famille Jones. De quoi as-tu peur ? »</p><p>Elle était convaincue que rien ne pouvait leur arriver. Avec leurs relations, qui oserait s’en prendre à eux ?</p><p>Si quelqu’un essayait, elle trouverait bien une personne plus influente pour étouffer l’affaire. Après tout, Mme Taylor ne manquait pas d’argent.</p><p>Voyant l’air suffisant de sa femme, M. Taylor explosa :</p><p>« Ce n’est pas si simple ! Tu ne sais pas... »</p><p>Et la dispute se poursuivit.</p><p>...</p><p>Du côté de Riya.</p><p>Riya ignorait que M. et Mme Taylor s’affrontaient.</p><p>Elle sortit de l’hôpital le lendemain et retourna à son dortoir, déterminée à y rester pour s’entraîner.</p><p>Concernant l’affaire de la famille Taylor, Riya n’avait guère d’espoir.</p><p>Sa magie n’était pas du type investigatrice.</p><p>Et elle ne savait pas par où commencer pour trouver des preuves des agissements des Taylor.</p><p>Dans ces conditions, elle ne pouvait que mettre cette affaire de côté.</p><p>Mais si l’occasion se présentait à l’avenir...
