Elles mangèrent d'abord le pain pris à la cantine, bien qu'il risquât de devenir rassis après quelques jours.</p><p>« Il y a d'autres étudiants. » Amelia était en train de manger lorsqu'elle aperçut quelqu'un marcher au loin et fronça les sourcils.</p><p>« Ne t'inquiète pas, ils ne viennent pas dans notre direction. » Riya leva les yeux et détermina la direction de l'étudiant après un moment.</p><p>« Comment tu sais ? »</p><p>« Parce qu'il ne regarde dans notre direction que lorsqu'il observe les alentours, ce qui signifie qu'il cherche à savoir s'il y a quelqu'un à proximité qui voudrait le suivre », expliqua Riya calmement.</p><p>Elle avait vécu ce genre de scène de nombreuses fois pendant son séjour dans ce monde.</p><p>Lorsque des personnes passaient, Riya observait leur langage corporel pour déterminer leur direction. Plutôt que de s'infliger des souffrances, il valait mieux qu'elle suive Amelia et reste chez elle.</p><p>« Je peux aussi travailler pour toi ou t'aider en quoi que ce soit », ajouta Ruby. « Ma force physique n'est pas terrible, mais je peux faire des recherches si tu veux. »</p><p>Amelia : « ... »</p><p>Quels yeux voient en moi une envie de faire des recherches ?</p><p>Mais songeant que son frère pourrait être intéressé par cela, Amelia ne put que hocher la tête à contrecœur. « J'en parlerai à mon frère. »</p><p>« Super. »</p><p>« Maintenant que c'est décidé, rentrons et préparons-nous à partir », rappela Riya.</p><p>« Oui. »</p><p>Elles finirent leur repas et Ruby dut abandonner le cadavre de la bête magique qu'elle avait minutieusement disséquée. Elle regarda la bête avec des yeux pleins de regret et de nostalgie. À ne pas savoir, on aurait cru qu'elle s'apprêtait à quitter son amant.</p><p>Amelia se frotta les yeux en voyant cela et dit : « Allez, il se fait tard. »</p><p>« Oui. »</p><p>Ruby monta dans la voiture et la démarra.</p><p>Riya colla silencieusement une autre formation sur la voiture et soupira profondément. Même si cette voiture était d'une très bonne marque, avec ses améliorations, elle vaudrait un char d'assaut. Riya pensa que si elle avait travaillé pour un constructeur automobile, ils seraient devenus un empire mondial leader.</p><p>Secouant la tête, Riya chassa ces pensées de son esprit.</p><p>La voiture démarra et fonça dans la rue.</p><p>« Tu connais la direction pour aller chez moi ? » demanda soudain Amelia.</p><p>« Ne t'inquiète pas, je suis déjà allée chez toi plusieurs fois », répondit Ruby. « Je connais encore le chemin... »</p><p>*Boum*</p><p>Le sol trembla à nouveau, les laissant toutes trois stupéfaites.</p><p>« Qu'est-ce qu'on fait ? »</p><p>« Accrochez-vous à ce que vous pouvez... »</p><p>BOUM !</p><p>Un instant plus tard, les secousses cessèrent et Riya regarda au loin. Ses pupilles se dilatèrent lorsqu'elle aperçut une nouvelle fissure non loin d'elles.</p><p>« Appuie sur le champignon ! » cria Riya.</p><p>« Quoi ? »</p><p>« Maintenant ! »</p><p>Ruby était stupéfaite et, en regardant derrière elle, elle vit la grande fissure qui s'était formée sur le côté de la rue, non loin. Une bête magique en émergeait, sa tête déjà visible.</p><p>Cette scène leur glaça le sang.</p><p>Riya savait qu'elle ne pouvait pas bloquer cette fissure maintenant, car des dizaines de bêtes magiques en sortaient en courant et il y avait plus d'une fissure dans cette zone.</p><p>Merde !</p><p>« Cours ! Cours ! Cours ! » Amelia secoua le bras de Ruby, lui ordonnant de fuir rapidement.</p><p>Sans blague, s'il n'y avait qu'une ou deux bêtes magiques, Amelia serait encore montée au front pour les affronter. Mais si des dizaines de bêtes magiques arrivaient...</p><p>Désolée, elle ne pouvait pas !</p><p>Vroum !</p><p>La voiture fila à travers la rue dévastée et Ruby dut manœuvrer plusieurs fois pour éviter les parties les plus abîmées de la route. Mais elles pouvaient encore voir les bêtes magiques foncer vers elles à grande vitesse.</p><p>Riya les vit se ruer en masse et serra les dents.
