Riya ramassa commodément leurs cadavres dans son monde intérieur avant de repartir. En chemin, elle aperçut un grand nombre d'autres carcasses de bêtes magiques et les récupéra également. La plupart de ces créatures avaient été piétinées par leurs congénères en fuite. Les bêtes magiques n'éprouvaient aucune culpabilité à tuer d'autres créatures de leur espèce. Mais si elle recommençait à l'avenir, elle ignorait ce qu'il adviendrait d'eux. Une fois terminé, Riya prévoyait de créer des sorts à partir des pierres de jade. Mais cela ne pouvait pas être précipité. En y réfléchissant, Amelia sortit le talisman de froid que Riya lui avait donné. La température était toujours très élevée, mais ils n'y avaient pas prêté attention auparavant, trop occupés par l'affaire des bêtes magiques. Maintenant qu'elle était réunie avec sa famille, Amelia ne put s'empêcher de penser à cette chaleur étouffante et insuffla silencieusement du mana dans le talisman. C'était un talisman de froid à usage unique. Amelia avait appris par son frère l'existence des parchemins magiques, ou des talismans comme les appelait Riya. Ceux à usage unique ne pouvaient plus être utilisés une fois le délai expiré. C'était un peu dommage. La fraîcheur était vraiment agréable. Bang ! Amelia et Sean sursautèrent et regardèrent vers la porte. Samuel entra, suivi de quelques personnes. En comparant leurs vêtements souillés à ceux de Samuel, légèrement froissés, la différence était abyssale. Il semblait que tuer ces bêtes magiques n'était rien pour Samuel, mais pas pour ceux qui l'accompagnaient. Enfin, ils n'avaient qu'à prendre un bain. Amelia détourna les yeux et joua distraitement avec le talisman dans sa main. La fraîcheur donnait l'impression d'avoir un climatiseur juste devant elle. « Débarrassez-vous des cadavres. Ne les gaspillez pas », ordonna Samuel avant de regarder ses deux cadets. « À partir de demain, vous m'accompagnerez à l'extérieur. » « Hein ? On doit sortir ? » « Pourquoi ? » Amelia et Sean furent stupéfaits par cet ordre soudain. Ils n'avaient vraiment pas envie de sortir. Amelia avait déjà combattu ces bêtes magiques et n'avait aucune envie d'en affronter davantage. Elle en avait assez. Quant à Sean, il était resté à l'intérieur ces derniers jours, protégé par son frère aîné. Après tout, ses compétences étaient limitées et Samuel ne voulait pas exposer ses cadets tant qu'ils n'étaient pas prêts. Mais ce tremblement de terre soudain et cette marée de bêtes lui firent réaliser qu'il devait les intégrer à ce monde bien plus tôt que prévu. « Vous devez être capables de vous battre seuls », répondit Samuel calmement. Sean et Amelia grognèrent. « Ces bêtes magiques pourraient devenir plus fortes à l'avenir. » En entendant cela, même M. et Mme Jones froncèrent les sourcils. Ils regardèrent leurs enfants, sentant que la situation allait empirer. « Tu sais quelque chose à ce sujet, Sam ? »
