Non, son sous-entendu était clair : *« Fais des rondes le week-end et charme des femmes talentueuses ! »* Ne pas l’exprimer frontalement tenait à sa fierté ; déchiffrer ce message implicite relevait de mon intuition et de mes compétences. *Bip.* Une photo de la cible principale s’afficha sur mon smartphone. « Donc Blanche-Neige est la priorité absolue. » Cette femme avec qui j’avais déjà eu des échanges était aussi l’héroïne que je devais séduire – ou plutôt *convaincre* – par-dessus tout. « Sans son intervention, je n’aurais jamais pu intégrer l’académie, n’est-ce pas ? » Mon admission cette fois-ci reposait entièrement sur Blanche-Neige. « Ils ont été nombreux à démissionner à cause d’elle. » Pas parce qu’elle était la cible, mais parce que son arrivée comme instructrice avait libéré une flopée de postes vacants à l’académie. En temps normal, ceux qui cachaient des antécédents douteux prenaient la poudre d’escampette dès qu’un héros de son calibre pointait le bout de son nez. Ils étaient souvent plus corrompus que les pires vilains. Habituellement, si une légende comme Blanche-Neige rejoignait l’académie, ces types se contenteraient de rester pour l’admirer de loin. Mais ils éviteraient soigneusement de provoquer des vagues inutiles. *[Après enquête, vous avez détourné les fonds alloués à la glace au chocolat à la menthe !]* *[Argh, je suis découvert !]* *[Je ne vous laisserai pas fuir ! Aucune héroïne n’est coréenne. Bien sûr, comme il se doit dans un light novel, cela véhiculait des connotations de sous-culture, d’où la traduction *Princesse Lily*. Que signifiait-ce ? Lesbienne. Pour être précis, Blanche-Neige elle-même ne l’était pas, mais son aura de *« sœur populaire »* parmi les filles créait une atmosphère ambiguë. La plupart des héroïnes s’impliquaient avec le protagoniste en cherchant à approcher la Princesse Lily. Au final, le héros séduisait une héroïne après l’autre avant de conquérir Blanche-Neige elle-même. Une trame classique. Mais la réalité divergeait. « …Je me demande si son intention rejoint la mienne. » Le recrutement de Blanche-Neige.
